Press Releases from City of Livonia regarding drowning

During a Communications Electronics public swimming pool drowning investigation, routine documents are requested. The City of Livonia decided to censor some of the documents requested and later released under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act in an apparent attempt to slow down and hinder our investigation. Normally a "Press Release" is intended to be widely disseminated to everyone. When previously issued press releases requested from the Mayor's office and the police department are subsequently censored, it is a good indication of a high level cover-up. In this example, to hinder victim identification, the City of Livonia wanted to keep secret the victim was a "15 year old boy" and that the victim was visiting from "Texas".

Listed below are some examples of censored and uncensored documents ordered and released through the Michigan Freedom of Information Act.

Censored Press Release - City of Livonia Mayor's Office

Uncensored Press Release - City of Livonia Mayor's Office

Censored Press Release - City of Livonia Police Department

Uncensored Press Release - City of Livonia Police Department
