Freedom of Information Requests regarding drownings at Michigan Public
Swimming Pools.
To find
out what really happened in our fatal drowning investigations, information
is ordered through the Michigan
Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The City
of Livonia censored some of the requested documents such as press
releases in an apparent attempt to slow down our investigation, therefore
additional FOIA requests were needed to obtain the requested documents.
Also on
this page is the initial FOIA request dated May 9, 2001 to the School
District of the City of Saginaw through Dr. Wilson Smith, the Principal
of Saginaw High School. A follow up FOIA request was made on June 11,
2001 to the School District of the City of Saginaw, Office of the Superintendent.
