The MUSAR trench
rescue committee would like to announce the Trench Technician program.
The class will
be held in Howell Michigan at the Operating Engineer training center.
Prerequisite
for the class is MUSAR or Michigan State University (MSU) trench
operations or equivalent.
Dates for the
program are May 12-16 2003
Cost is based
on the number of students:
18 students
will be $695.00
24 students will be $645.00
30 students will be $595.00

This program
meets and exceeds NFPA 1006 and 1670. The class is very heavy in
hands on with very little time spent in the classroom. Students
will be doing "T", "L", deep, ISO systems, trench
boxs, heavy lifting, heavy equipment tie offs, excavation shoring,
and other topics.

Lt. Ann Arbor Fire Department/MUSAR Trench Committee chair
MUSAR is a Non-Profit 501(c)3 Funded Organization working in cooperation
with the fire service, local emergency management, the Michigan
Department of State Police and private sector agencies. MUSAR's
role is to provide a statewide capability for specialized response
to structural collapse emergencies and incidents requiring specialized
training in search and rescue. Michigan Urban Search and Rescue
is prepared to respond with specialized resources to assist your
jurisdiction.
TASK
FORCE: Search, Rescue, Medical, and Technical personnel
and equipment capable of long-term operations at large and catastrophic
collapse incidents.
STRIKE FORCE: A streamlined
version of the Task Force, designed for immediate response and up
to 24-hour operations.
SEARCH TEAMS: Collapse trained
Canine and Technical (electronic) Search Teams experienced in searching
voids, debris, and sheltered areas.
RESCUE
TEAMS: Rescue personnel and equipment capable of providing
emergency shoring and victim extrication from collapsed structures.TECHNICAL
ADVISORS: Personnel trained in urban search and rescue,
capable of advising you in proper use of building collapse rescue

MEDICAL TEAM: Designed to provide
the hospital's emergency room out in the field, this team is equipped
with advanced life support systems at rescue sites.
WHAT TO DO:

area.

trained personnel only.

to the injured that are outside of the hazardous area.
