FULLY SYNTHESIZED AND MICROPROCESSOR
CONTROLED OPERATION - Ensures unerring accuracy in frequency
selection and retention. Surface Mount Devices on the Voltage Controlled
Oscillator provide improved stability for longer, trouble free operation.

TRACK TUNING - provides for
continuous 20 MHz wideband operation without returning.

SIGNALLING OPTIONS - including
50 CTCSS subaudible signaling tones are built in and programmable
for different tones on both transmit and receive frequencies. A
monitor button (MON) allows you to override the tone button so you
can hear all the transmissions on your frequency.

THE FULL FUNCTION KEYBOARD -
on the 256N provides immediate access to your channels. It’s
easy to select and monitor only those channels which meet your immediate
needs with the scan feature. You can even program a priority channel
(PRO. PRIOR.) allowing you to silently monitor your most important
channel while utilizing the radio’s other features. If a transmission
comes through on your priority channel, the unit will automatically
lock in on that channel so you never miss an important transmission.
The 256N features an LED display with all the information you need
to control your radio. New On/Off-Volume and Squelch control knobs
are larger for improved accessability and recessed for greater protection.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES - such
as programmable Scan Delay and a Time-Out-Timer, Low RF Power Output
Indicator, Keypad Beep, Off Hook Scan, Off hook to Priority Channel,
Power Up on Channel 1 and Transmit Carrier Delay are built-in. this
radio also features a two-year limited warranty.
