RELM Receives FCC Type Acceptance for UHF Portable

6/17/02 West Melbourne, FL - To RELM Wireless Corporation announced FCC Type acceptance for its newest portable two-way radio.

RELM is now accepting orders for the RPU416A, a sixteen channel UHF portable. The lightweight RPU comes complete with a rapid rate desktop charger and an 1100 mAH, NiMH battery. Built-in features include Priority Channel Scanning, CTCSS, DCS and Two-Tone Decode and Encode. The Mil-Spec RP Series can be programmed using Windows based software or can be cloned from a like-type RP Radio.

“Type acceptance of the RPU416 is an important step in our aggressive plan for new product development and introduction in 2002,” said Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Thom Morrow. Along with our mobile extender, EarthLoc tracking systems and the RPV516A VHF model, the RPU416 is the fourth new product RELM Wireless has released this quarter.”

RELM Wireless plans to continue the expansion of its RELM Communications product line with the release of a ninety-six channel, field programmable version of the RP Series later this year. Development of a new series of expanded capability mobile radios bearing the RELM Communications name is also underway.
